Mad Mike. Est 2009.

Great insight into the development and the controversies that occurred (and still are occurring) when creating facebook. Though the film is a consistent and often enthralling watch, don’t expect this to be a “David Fincher film” as such. While Fincher maintains his signature cinematography, the director has definitely taken a step back from making the film entirely his as he’s trademark is often unnoticeable; mainly due to the fact that it isn’t as in your face like ‘Seven’, ‘Fight Club’ & ‘Zodiac’ were. Consequently, ‘The Social Network’ isn’t as nowhere near as strong as the films mentioned beforehand. Where TSN wins is in it’s performances; Jesse Eisenberg’s performance alone as the creator/CEO of facebook is fantastic, firmly removing the ‘poor man’s Michael Cera’ tag and replacing it with the ‘one to watch’ tag. Shockingly, Justin Timberlake as Napster creator ‘Shaun Parker’ was a great choice-see it to believe it. Overall, the film is a definite watch for film fans; not just the internet generation.

Pros: Great Acting. Great Score. Anyone with a Facebook account will find this interesting.

Cons: Often hard to believe. Sometimes drags.

Score: 8/10
